Be careful with Money Changer!!
For those who are new to Bali, there is one important tip about money changer. Actually it is more like a "warning"...
Do not trust the money changer that puts out the small little booth down below the small road. They are complete scam! They try to attract you with the higher exchange rate and with the fake sign "authorized money changer". If you try any of them, you will never find yourself get out of the place with the amount you should received. If you are lucky, you will lose about IDR 100,000 - 400,000 but if you are not and you exchange a lot, then be prepared to lose move than a million.
Stay away from the small, dull, and close-up place. The higher rate they offer, the bad signs it is. Run away!!!
Make sure to enter the money changer with proper office. Those with the glass wall, bringht light, and wide open is always a good sign of criminal free.
Thanks for posting.
It may sound a bit alarmist, but generally we agree with Nalisa. Use your common sense: if someone is advertising a rate that is too good to be true -- rest assured, it is.

I agree. It's ok to exchange in that little booth if you are in an urgent situation and only need a small amount. But if you are going to spend a lot, I suggest to carefully select the money changer.
A friend recommended me Bali Maspin Citra. You can find it in many places such as Seminyak and Kuta. The place is big and bright, and they offer a fair rate. Other recommendation is Wahana Money Exchange. It is located in Raya Kuta. The rate is also good. They even suggest us to return the next day if the rate is too high on that day.
